![]() Furlough Notes - July, 2007
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY WITH US FOR THE PEOPLE OF UGANDA This summer we celebrate 9 years in Uganda and the seeds we have planted during these years are watered by your faithful prayers. We are returning to Uganda in September, and we are very grateful for the doors the Lord has opened during our furlough to share His Word, to speak about our call and vision for missions, to give testimonies of God's faithfulness and provision, and to spiritually encourage the church in America, as well as in Uganda. We understand more than ever the need for an army of intercessors to be behind us. You will touch Uganda with the hidden work of prayer even though you may never meet the people for whom you are praying. The seeds will grow as you pray!
WHAT IMPACT HAVE WE MADE? MINISTRY UPDATE Jennifer has been speaking to women's groups, Bible Studies, women's retreats and churches while in America. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire her thoughts and she will bring a message that will ignite hearts for a deeper relationship with Jesus and birth a new passion for the mission of the church. During the coming months we have a rigorous schedule of speaking, teaching, training and conferences. We would be very grateful for your prayers during these events: Jennifer speaks at the following: July 17 -- Church of the Epiphany - Women's "Summer Seasons." Phil and Jennifer speak together: July 18 -- A gathering of fifty church leaders, sponsored by Advancing Native Missions, in Charlottesville, VA Phil returns to Uganda on September 7 to speak at these leadership conferences: September 9-15 -- Preparation of Mbale Diocese leadership team for a mission to Kenya Our son, David, is an intern this summer at South Riding Church under the leadership of Rev. Phil Ashey. He preached his first sermon on July 8. If you would like to hear his message on "Reaping and Sowing," click here to download the online podcast. |
